Designing the room with natural elements, like plants and natural materials, will help achieve this goal. Since the pandemic, gardens have began to flourish more and more for obvious reasons. This year, we’re taking it a step further. Dream gardens refers to not only planting your gorgeous gardens, but going all out with the patio furniture, lighting, speakers, and entire outdoor set up. The garden, after all, is the best place in the yard to hang out.

Shades of Brown

From cognac to burnt amber, natural browns will be popping out a bit more in 2022. Although neutrals in general are on their way out, these earthy tones are here for their monochromatic moment.

Needless to say, 2022 summer interior trends include our pets because after all, they are our everything. Spending so much time at home with them has made so many of us realize that we need a designated spot for our friends! I’m not talking about a hose in the yard on the way in to wash off their muddy paws – I mean an entire area dedicated to them. Built-in dog showers are popping up in foyers with luxurious additives (like warm water!) that connect seamlessly with your design choices.

Shades of Green

Green hues will be all over the design industry this season – from fashion to interiors! Shades of green will fill homes, bringing that warm, natural feel indoors. Deeper hues of green, like emerald, will feel luxurious and soothing.

Always opt for the secondhand, vintage pieces! Not only does it add warmth to every space, but it adds so much history and sentimentality. Rare antiques and vintage finds are stylishly sustainable and repurposing old, damaged, or worn out pieces are a great way to reduce our carbon footprint – not to mention a great conversation starter.

Leather

In the spirit of making old feel like new, more people are purchasing leather furniture in rich tones. The tones of the furniture offsets any metallics used in the space and the older, “worn out” feeling of the leather adds so much character and personality to the space. The leather tells a story in itself and we’ll be seeing more and more of that in the Spring and Summer of 2022.

While wellness should be a top priority all year round, it really takes a font seat this year. With the spa bathrooms, the self-spaces, and the calming natural designs, it’s no wonder “wellness” as a whole made it to this list. Implementing wellness around your home is easy, it’s all about how the space makes YOU feel. If you love the calming smell of lavender, put lavender candles in the spaces you want to feel relaxed in. Put low-light mood lamps in your self-space and make a part of your home, or your entire home, a retreat!
